He has 26 years of practical experience and expertise in the field of Clinical Oncology.

Prof. Akram has a very rich track record of working in different organizations in his career. Previously he performed as Chief Consultant, Clinical Oncologist in Lab Aid Specialized Hospital, Dhaka. He was a Senior Consultant at Ahsania Mission Cancer Hospital. He was the Founder, Professor, and Chief Oncologist of NorthEast Cancer Hospital, Sylhet. Prof. Akram is also known as he was the Founder and Chairman of the Oncology Department of BSMMU.
